Dear Paull and Paulla,

We are sorry, if sometimes you can't understand correctly what we mean, when we joke.

Please, dare to ask us, we can't forget you, and it's a great pleasure to read your messages.

About "Cocobeu", that is just a nickname, and first time, I didn't understand, but just after, it was the first time I've read this "word", too fast.

In french, when we mean a.k.a ( alias), we can write it by "dit", it means :
"called".

For example, I'm sure you remember "Margaret Thatcher"

in french a.k.a " La Dame de Fer" ( alias) ("The Iron Women")

It 's like we should have said : "Margaret Thatcher" dite : "La Dame de Fer".

About another little thing, I know "Brownie" on " Le Lion d'Or", I and I've asked to him if there is a " messages in foreign languages" on
"Le Lion d'Or".

He has replied me, unfortunately no, but you can write in english, we'll reply to you.
Very good, but you understand that we are several not able to read the dutch.

Should it be possible to create it, it would be very interesting for everybody.
And sometimes, we"ll visit you, to share some informations, and beautiful
pictures.

See you soon,
best wishes,
Will and all friends

Dear Will and all friends,

Many thanks for your kind and explanatory message.
We enjoy reading on the French forum and yes, sometimes we are very lost in word-jokes and familiarities we don't know. We then skip a little and some messages later we pick up the subject, when it is "understandable" again. Image

We will not hesitate to ask if we are puzzled and as always some forummer will reply and explain the matter. Brilliant.

By the way, some photos to illustrate helps a lot!

We keep on reading with you all and if we have a solution or idea, we will for sure post our message in French or English (knowing you can translate so perfectly!!).

Have a nice evening and see you soon
(when?)
Paull and Paulla

We met Brownie once and we had a nice chat (in Dutch...)

Thank you Paull and Paulla for your indulgence with our typical, out of subject, French humour!

And see you soon! (next Rétromobile as ever?)

:D Dear Paull and Paulla :!:

Thank you very much for your last very kind word about my replies to you :D

Even, I repeat, what I'm not alone to mean :D , what a great pleasure to read you.
I know it's not easy to meet ourselves, but I hope, in a short time, it will be.

Paull, do you have a little idea about a little trouble, on my 604, wich is the impossible electrical sliding roof closing by driver's main door key ?
The windows are working very well in this action.

I have tried to replace the relay, with no good result...

About the central locking system, little Bosch parts for the trunk lock are fitted on VW horns, Golf, Polo.
And it is possible to buy it at a Bosh parts dealer.

If you need other parts, I have ordered a main vacum distributor, on driver's door, at my Mercedes-Benz garage, for my 604.

This little part was fitted on 108/109, and 116 Mercedes body types, but not after.

sixteen euros, and 20 years during :D

It's the good part, be sure.

See you soon, best wishes,
Will

Dear Will,

I have to think this problem over. I will consult the electrical drawings and later this week I will try to simulate this problem in our 6  4.
Can you tell me if the roof works fine with the switch on your dashboard?
I will read your reply later and after some testing get back to you in this topic.

Have a nice Christmas day with your family and loved ones.

Best regards,
Paull

I thank you very much , dear Paull :!:

Yes, the sliding roof works very well with the switch on the the dashboard, with no failure.

Like the first day

But... I don't remember, at this moment, if it needs just the first position of the ignition key ... or if it is possible on the second only, I think that it is not necessary, because on the second position, you connect the pre-heating plugs ( SRDt), and it is an unnecessary great power consumption, if you just want to close or open the roof, when engine is not running, for example, for children

See you soon,

Will

In my STI, the sliding roof worked on first poisition of the ignition key. And it didn't without the key...

Dear Will,

I made some pictures of the electrical drawing. As far as I can see now, it can only be a small problem.
Like for instance a fuse that does not make proper electrical contact, or a relais connector (socket) that is not properly stuck in the relais frame.

The relais frame is made of iron and built on the fuse boxes. Several times I experienced that the former owner unplugged and plugged the relais from the socket and pushed the socket out of the frame. If so, it is better to disconnect the battery before working on the electrical system. This is to prevent electrical shortcut when you make a little mistake.

Later this week I can do some trials on our 6  4.

As you can see, on the electrical drawing, there are 5 relais involved. If you wish more explanation as to which relais does what, do not hesitate to ask and I will gladly answer.

Success with this work!
Regards,
Paull
