Dear Will,

So can you give me the parts numbers for the oil filter, and for the seal, and, do you know if it is still available at Peugeot's garage, or ZF parts dealer only ?
The oilfilter has partnumber: 2263 .11
You can wash the filter to clean it. To get the filter out of the gearbox, you need torx nr. 27.
The number for the seal: 2214.05.
The seal is re-usable when not broken. Its made from rubber.
To unclose the automatic gearbox, you have to remove the fill-pipe and four screws 10 mm.
Don't forget to release the oil plug of the gearbox first. The seal for the plug is nr. 2106.06.
Always use a new sealring. It is made from brass. A new one prevents oildripping.

When cold, it doesn't like, passages from 1st to 2rd, little lightly hard.
and 2rd to 3 rd, very cool, but in late, never under 60 km/h
I never experienced a 505 automatic gearbox, but possibly there is some dirt in the labyrint and most likely it will clean itself with new ATF oil. (and a clean filter)

Kick downs are in the good average, and the engine 116 000k, is ...
like the first day of use !!
Use the kick down as little as possible, because it gives much more usage to your gearbox and therefore less mileage to your gearbox.
In Holland an oil filter for a 3 HP 22 from ZF cost you at Peugeotdealer twice as much as at the BMWdealer
(ain't that funny??)
At the BMWdealer, I always told that I would use the filter for a 6  4, and they would look at me very surprised!
Best regards,
Paull
PS:
We have heard of Oradour sur Glane, but never visited (sofar).
