Thank you very much, Paull, for your word about my ZF 3 HP 22.( blue 505)

I would like replace the filter, oil and seal a on my automatic transmission;, like you have said it, I completely agree with you !!
Even my car had a very, good maintenance.

So can you give me the parts numbers for the oil filter, and for the seal, and, do you know if it is still available at Peugeot's garage, or ZF parts dealer only ?

I thank you very much !
Don't worry, if you don't have the time to reply me, in first time, this week, I will change oil, only.
I think, the gearbox needs it. ( oil has 27 000km, and I don't know exactly, how many years...)

When cold, it doesn't like, passages from 1st to 2rd, little lightly hard.
and 2rd to 3 rd, very cool, but in late, never under 60 km/h

Kick downs are in the good average, and the engine 116 000k, is ...
like the first day of use !!

It's possible to kick from 2 to 1 at 50 km/h, after , no.

We have made a trip to Limoges, yesterday ( saturday sept 16 th), we came back this sunday, I and to friends "Quatrelle" ( forum member) and another friend.
They have to 505 Turbo Injection( second series 180 HP), and mine was "grand mama"; but it'is able to give, on highway, its 117 HP !!!

The radiator of my 505 V6 is in restauration, it's because, I didn took it, for this trip.

We have decided to visit this morning, " Oradour sur Glane", a very, very impressive place, I think, you know of what I am writing about...
A very great human moment of respect.
Quatrelle ( Eric) took some pictures.
Perhaps, a day, we'll write a word about it, I can't write more about, this evening.

So, I hope to read you soon !

Best regards,
Will.

Dear Will,

Citation:

The oilfilter has partnumber: 2263 .11
You can wash the filter to clean it. To get the filter out of the gearbox, you need torx nr. 27.

The number for the seal: 2214.05.
The seal is re-usable when not broken. Its made from rubber.

To unclose the automatic gearbox, you have to remove the fill-pipe and four screws 10 mm.
Don't forget to release the oil plug of the gearbox first. The seal for the plug is nr. 2106.06.
Always use a new sealring. It is made from brass. A new one prevents oildripping.

I never experienced a 505 automatic gearbox, but possibly there is some dirt in the labyrint and most likely it will clean itself with new ATF oil. (and a clean filter)

Use the kick down as little as possible, because it gives much more usage to your gearbox and therefore less mileage to your gearbox.

In Holland an oil filter for a 3 HP 22 from ZF cost you at Peugeotdealer twice as much as at the BMWdealer
(ain't that funny??)
At the BMWdealer, I always told that I would use the filter for a 6  4, and they would look at me very surprised!

Best regards,
Paull

PS:
We have heard of Oradour sur Glane, but never visited (sofar).

Hello Paull,

I have replaced my gearbox oil, even it has seemed to be very clean.

I think, it works better than before, perhaps it is in my brain, I don't know.

But I am very glad, because it runs very well.
I think you know this ZF model : 3 HP 22.

I have to replace the timing belt, 12 000 km, but 5 years aged, I don't want to play with this part !

Thank you very much, see you soon !
Will

Smart thinking Will!
It prevents you from tremendous damage in your engine and lots of maintenance. Image

Bye for now,
Paull
